Celebrate Thanksgiving Weekend at the Museum of the American Revolution

On October 3, 1789, George Washington issued a proclamation designating Thursday, November 26, of that year as a national day of thanks. During Thanksgiving Weekend, the Museum of the American Revolution will offer special talks, guided tours, and family-friendly activities from Friday, Nov. 24 – Sunday, Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (6 p.m. on Friday).

The British Are Coming Back! Living History Event Recreates British Occupation of Philadelphia

The Museum of the American Revolution will recreate the dark days of the British occupation during Occupied Philadelphia, a two-day living history event on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20 – 21. Throughout the weekend, the Museum will offer guided walking tours, special programming, and family-friendly activities exploring what life was like in the city while British forces controlled it.

The British Are Back! “Occupied Philadelphia” Living History Event Recreates the British Occupation of Philadelphia, Oct. 28-29

In the fall of 1777, Philadelphia was seized by the British and occupied for nine long months. The Museum of the American Revolution will recreate this little-known time in our city’s history as part of its annual living history event, Occupied Philadelphia, on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The Museum will offer guided neighborhood walking tours and family-friendly activities exploring what life was like while British forces controlled – or, for some people, attempted to liberate – Philadelphia.
