Museum of the American Revolution Set to Reopen Sept. 3, with Special Member Access Beginning August 20

The Museum of the American Revolution is scheduled to reopen to the general public on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020, with special access for Museum Members beginning Thursday, August 20. To ensure the safest and most enjoyable experience, the Museum has implemented new health and safety measures, including reduced capacity, advance online ticket purchasing, and enhanced sanitizing and cleaning protocols.

Free Admission for Kids During Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 2-4

Bring the whole family to the Museum of the American Revolution during Labor Day Weekend, Saturday, Sept. 2 – Monday, Sept. 4, 2023, for pop-up talks, discovery carts, theatrical performances, and other family-friendly activities. Museum Launches New Interactive, Multimedia Timeline of the American Revolution

The Museum of the American Revolution has launched its new interactive, multimedia Timeline of the American Revolution. Using nearly 100 historical objects, works of art, textiles, and documents from the Museum’s rich collection, the online Timeline explores both key moments and surprising stories from the American Revolution through a visually rich and user-friendly digital experience. The Timeline is now available for free to virtual visitors around the world.

Only Two Weeks Remain to See “Among His Troops” Exhibit, On View Through Presidents Day Feb. 19

Only two weeks remain to see a recently discovered watercolor painting from the Revolutionary War at the Museum of the American Revolution. The 235-year-old, seven-foot panoramic painting is the centerpiece of the special exhibit Among His Troops: Washington’s War Tent in a Newly Discovered Watercolor, which runs through Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 19, 2018.

Acclaimed author and historian Dr. Mary Beth Norton will join the Museum of the American Revolution on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. to present a hybrid lecture, titled “Gender and American Resistance to British Authority, 1765-1775: A Reassessment,” as part of the Museum’s 2023 Read the Revolution Speaker Series. This hybrid program will be held in the Museum’s Liberty Hall and will be livestreamed online.
