The Practitioners & Ornaments of Musick present an evening concert celebrating the artistic and international worlds of Richard St. George, an Irish artist and officer in the British Army (ca. 1752-1798). This entertainment will feature works heard in the concert rooms, music societies, theatres, and grand private houses of the Irish Georgian capital composed by Handel, Arne, Corelli, Roseingrave, Geminiani, and O’Carolan, the Irish bard, among other esteemed masters. John Burkhalter, founder of The Practitioners & Ornaments of Musick and a current member of the Museum of the American Revolution and the Irish Georgian Society, will present an illustrated musical performance as he plays English and small flutes, joined by harpsichordist Kerry Heimann and soprano Abigail Chapman.
Program guests are invited to arrive early to see Cost of Revolution: The Life and Death of an Irish Soldier, open from 5:15-6 p.m.
