The Museum's replicas of George Washington's tents set up at Morristown National Historical Park in New Jersey.

Join the Museum at Odell House Rochambeau Headquarters in Hartsdale, New York, on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., for Colonial Day where we will set up our First Oval Office Project, a recreated Revolutionary War encampment, including handsewn, full-scale replicas of General George Washington's sleeping marquee, dining tent, baggage tent, and common tents that served as his mobile headquarters while on campaign. Navigate the encampment, explore the tents, and meet costumed living history interpreters portraying the people who would have been there. Washington's original sleeping and office tent from the Revolutionary War is on permanent display at the Museum of the American Revolution in historic Philadelphia.

See what life was like during the 1781 encampment of American and French troops in Greenburgh at Odell House Rochambeau Headquareters' Colonial Day. In addition to the Museum's First Oval Office Project, visitors can meet first-person historical interpreters portraying George Washington, Comte de Rochambeau, and Ben Franklin; see military marching and drills by re-enactors of the 5th New York Regiment and Hearts of Oak; watch demonstrations of Colonial cooking, wool spinning, blacksmithing, children’s toys and more; and learn about the role Odell House Rochambeau Headquarters played in the encampment and how this historic site is being restored. Admission is $10 for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 3-12 and active service members/veterans (with ID), and children under 3 are free.
