Independence may have been approved in the summer of 1776, but the ramifications of the Declaration of Independence extended far into the future. Yet the nuance of this document is often forgotten by many who learn about it today. The words of the Declaration of Independence had unintended audiences and unintended consequences that were felt during the Revolutionary era and the ideas it presented still have the power to impact our lives today.

Educators are invited to join this free workshop to take a closer look at the Declaration of Independence, work together to analyze the context that surrounded it, and reflect on its legacy.
