I am daily visited with convulsive attacks—three this very day—melted down also by nightly hallucinations and dreadful visions and suggestions—sudden delirium also—yesterday one terrible to recollect—and many more a few days previously.
Richard St. George to Henry Fuseli, 1792

Irish soldier and artist Richard St. George's personal trauma and untimely death provide a window into the entangled histories of the American Revolution of 1776 and the Irish Revolution of 1798. The art he created and commissioned provides a unique perspective of the physical and emotional costs of these revolutionary moments.
