Spencer's Additional Continental Regiment will interpret the administrative activities and daily tasks of one of the so-called "Sixteen Additional Battalions of Infantry" authorized at the end of 1776 to augment Washington's Army.  Spencer's Regiment served during the core years of the Revolution from 1777-80, drawing men from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and even a handful from Maryland, as well as an officer from Delaware. Visitors will experience recruiting parties enlisting soldiers for long-term service, learn the elements of military drill, and witness the administration of justice through the dramatic presentation of courts martial drawn from real cases.
