More Info
Join the Museum at Valley Forge National Historical Park on Saturday, Dec. 14, for their commemoration of the 1777 arrival of the Continental Army in Valley Forge, where we will set up our First Oval Office Project, a recreated Revolutionary War encampment, including a handsewn, full-scale replica of General George Washington's sleeping marquee that served as his mobile headquarters while on campaign. Navigate the encampment, explore the tents, and meet costumed living history interpreters portraying the people who would have been there. Washington's original sleeping and office tent from the Revolutionary War is on permanent display at the Museum of the American Revolution in historic Philadelphia.
March-In Commemoration activities will take place at the visitor center area, along the paved Joseph Plumb Martin Trail, and at Muhlenberg's Brigade.
