Newly added seminar due to popular demand!
“The American war is over,” wrote Benjamin Rush in 1787, “but this is far from being the case with the American revolution.” In the early United States, people felt that the Revolution was only just beginning. What did they hope for? What choices and compromises did they make? In this interactive seminar, through readings, virtual talks and tours, and class discussion, we’ll explore how the Revolutionary generation struggled in the years after the war ended to shape a new country.
This five-class seminar led by Dr. Tyler Putman, Senior Manager of Gallery Interpretation, will occur on Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m. from Feb. 28 through March 28. Participants will need access to Zoom meeting software, an internet connection, microphone, and webcam, and will receive complementary readings and resources. Sessions will be recorded for the benefit of participants who miss a session due to a conflict. For questions, please contact Tyler Putman at [email protected].
