Qubein Appointed to National Leadership Council for Museum of the American Revolution

HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 8, 2015 – The Museum of the American Revolution has appointed Dr. Nido Qubein, High Point University president, to its National Leadership Council, alongside distinguished Americans such as Gen. Colin Powell, former secretary of state, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and national security advisor; David McCullough, Pulitzer Prize winner and accomplished historian; Chris Matthews, American political commentator and national TV show host; and many others.

The museum is currently under construction and estimated to be complete in spring 2017. It will be located in the heart of Philadelphia, the city that served as the headquarters of America’s founding. It will tell the complete story of the American Revolution using its distinguished collection of objects, artifacts, artwork and manuscripts.

Qubein is also the recipient of other patriotic appointments and awards, including the Horatio Alger Award for Distinguished Americans, which honors the achievements of outstanding Americans who have succeeded in spite of adversity and emphasizes the importance of higher education; the DAR Americanism Medal, the highest honor that the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution may bestow on a foreign-born citizen; and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, which pays homage to the immigrant experience and the contribution made to America by immigrants and their children.
