Update: The deadline for registration has been extended to March 9, 2026.

Educators, join the Museum of the American Revolution and George Washington’s Mount Vernon for an engaging, interactive, and in-person learning opportunity to help you prepare to teach about the nation’s Semiquincentennial!

First, meet one of Mount Vernon’s teacher ambassadors and be introduced, or reintroduced, to their educational resources by utilizing primary sources from the George Washington Teacher Institute and Mount Vernon website with access to the Mount Vernon museum digital collection.

Then, engage with members of the Museum of the American Revolution’s Education Team as you dig into stories and classroom resources from the Museum’s newest special exhibition, The Declaration’s Journey, presented by Griffin Catalyst, exploring how Philadelphia’s greatest export is used in rights, sovereignty, and independence movements both at home and around the world from 1776 to the present day.

Activities will take place both in the Museum’s classrooms and in exhibition spaces.

This opportunity is open to current classroom teachers and administrators. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no charge. These sessions are Act 48 eligible and all attendees will receive a certificate of participation at the end of the program. Participants are welcome to continue exploring the Museum until its close at 5pm.

This program is one in a series of GWTI250 programs. Click here to learn more about GWTI professional development workshops across the country.
