Activities and Crafts free with Museum Admission

Two hundred and forty years ago, in the spring of 1778, the Continental Army and its followers were preparing to leave Valley Forge and march into an uncertain future. This spring break, join educators everyday at 11:00 am as they demonstrate activities and crafts from the Revolutionary period, including shoemaking, tailoring, fencing, and the work of the men and women who supported the armies.

Sat., 4/7 11am - 12pm Forged in Philadelphia: Witness the skills that went into making a Revolutionary firearm. Visitors can take a closer look at a reproduction weapon and learn about a blacksmith business.
Sun., 4/8 11am - 12pm If the Shoe Fits: Follow in the footsteps of an artificer who will demonstrate the process of shoe-making for the Revolutionary army.
