Retail & Rebellion: Thanksgiving Weekend at the Museum

This Thanksgiving Weekend and Black Friday, experience the surprising political and global history of shopping in Revolutionary America and Ireland. Gather under the Liberty Tree to find out what items early Americans bought at the market and what items they boycotted to voice their rights. Participate in our “Stamp is Right” challenge in our Galleries and learn about the price of goods in early America. Learn how Revolutionary protests continued across the Atlantic in the Museum’s special exhibition, Cost of Revolution: The Life and Death of an Irish Soldier.

On Black Friday, Nov. 29, the Museum will have ASL translations of the 1:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. showings of the Richard St. George theatrical performance. If you would like to reserve a seat in one of the shows, please email
