Member Virtual Lunch & Learn: The New York Campaign (250th Anniversary Event)

Museum Members across the nation are invited to meet Museum Education and Collections staff for a free special talk and Q&A in this exclusive virtual program series presented live from Philadelphia.  

The British strategy in 1776 was to secure New York City and outmaneuver General Washington’s Continental Army. In four months of fighting, from August to November 1776, General Howe’s British forces took control of western Long Island, Manhattan Island (including New York City), Staten Island, and the surrounding area of the Hudson Valley in Revolutionary New York. Which artifacts on view in the Museum’s galleries belonged to the soldiers who witnessed these events 250 years ago in this season of the American Revolution?  

Join Museum Associate Curator James Taub for a behind-the-scenes discussion of this historical moment from 1776, as interpreted at the Museum of the American Revolution. Following the talk, Museum Members will be invited to ask questions and share comments via Zoom Meeting. Please note: This event will not be recorded or made available to watch again.
