For some people, the Revolutionary War changed everything. It transformed them from subjects to voting citizens, for example, and opened new economic and social opportunities. For others, the broader ideas of the Revolution took much longer to come to fruition, and, in some cases, people struggled to gain the rights they desired for the rest of their lives. Join Museum educators as we dig into this key question that we frequently help students answer in our galleries. Participants of this workshop will examine historical documents and artifacts from the Museum suitable for engaging students in an exploration of this question while discussing present-day connections to help them better empathize with those that experienced this historical event.
