History after Hours: Independent Labels
Silk or homespun? Who wore it best? Learn about revolutionary fashion with the Museum’s costumed educators and try (revolutionary) things on for size.
Veronica Miller Jamison, fashion illustrator instructor at Made Institute in Philadelphia will join us at the Museum to illustrate 18th-century fashions worn by educators interpreting 1770s styles: camp followers, soldiers and others. How has fashion design and construction changed in 200+ years. As Philadelphia celebrates Philly Fashion Week, the Museum will highlight the changing fabric, materials and politics involved with styling Philadelphia as a revolutionary city.
Complete your evening by dressing up in Revolutionary-inspired clothing and learn about the “selfies” of the 1700’s and pose for your own personal revolutionary portrait to take home.
Happy Hour in the Cross Keys cafe will feature drink specials.
