A painting by Don Troiani on view alongside objects depicted in the painting in the Museum's Liberty Exhibit

This Professional Development Workshop has been cancelled. Check out upcoming virtual workshops.

We've all heard that a picture is worth a thousand words, but what about a historical object? Join Museum educators as we examine paintings of historical events alongside objects from the Museum’s latest special exhibit, Liberty: Don Troiani’s Paintings of the Revolutionary War. Teachers participating in this free workshop will get a sneak peek at featured paintings and material culture from the exhibit while investigating how close-looking and analysis of them can be a gateway to student understanding of the people, places, and events of the American Revolution.

The Liberty Workshop Series is presented in partnership with the American Battlefield Trust.
