Explore General George Washington's Revolutionary War encampment at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture in Richmond, VA. This unique program offers visitors the chance to learn from costumed historic interpreters and explore handsewn, full-scale reproductions of Washington’s sleeping and office marquee as well as his baggage tent, camp bed, furniture, and more that were part of his mobile headquarters while on campaign.
A signature event of the Virginia Museum of History & Culture’s 250th Initiative, Living History Weekend will also include more than 50 living history interpreters bringing to life the diverse stories of soldiers and civilians from the American Revolution. Explore the material culture of the era through immersive demonstrations that highlight the military experience and daily realities of the Revolutionary War.
