First Oval Office Project at Morristown National Historical Park
July 8-9, 2023Join the Museum, Morristown National Historical Park, and the Washington Association of New Jersey at Washington's Headquarters to celebrate the Park's 90th Anniversary with our First Oval Office Project on July 8-9, 2023.
The First Oval Office Project is a recreated Revolutionary War encampment that includes handsewn, full-scale replicas of General George Washington's sleeping marquee, dining tent, baggage tent, and common tents that served as his mobile headquarters while on campaign. Navigate the encampment, explore the tents, and meet costumed living history interpreters portraying the people who would have been there. Visitors will be able to compare how General Washington spent winters in homes such as Morristown NHP’s Ford Mansion to life in his war tent while on campaign.
