Replica Pinball or round pincushion sewn at an Artisan Workshop.

Join us for this three-part virtual Artisan Workshop to learn about 18th-century fashion and how to make your own embroidered “pinball,” a spherical pincushion, based on original examples. Museum staff will discuss original embroidered objects and lead a hands-on sewing circle to recreate embroidered pinballs inspired by historical objects.

This three-part class will occur from 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 18, and 25. All participants will receive material by mail prior to the start of the workshop to make their own pinball. No prior sewing experience is required but some familiarity with sewing or needlework would be helpful. Participants will need an internet connection, microphone, and webcam.

Deadline to Register: Jan. 3, 2023
