While the experiences of women differed depending on their circumstances and loyalties, the Revolutionary War affected all of them. In this free virtual Professional Development Workshop, educators will discover how to use the Museum’s new virtual tour of our special exhibition, Liberty: Don Troiani’s Paintings of the Revolutionary War, as a way to explore women's roles and experiences in the Revolutionary War, especially those that joined armies as camp followers. Participants will also have an orientation to the exhibition’s free Teacher Resource Guide, which will help them introduce students to the various ways that women helped the war effort by maintaining their homes and communities, following the army, and even fighting in battle.
