The teacher guide for The Declaration’s Journey is designed to be a resource for students and teachers across the nation. The modular activities within the five thematic units of these teacher resources are aligned with the Historical Thinking Standards, the United States Content Standards, and the World History Content Standards created by the National Center for History in the Schools at the University of California, Los Angeles under the guidance of the National Council for History Standards. Many activities also align with the National Council for the Social Studies Ten Themes for the National Curriculum Standards, their College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies State Standards, and Common Core.
