Joseph Fox

Captain Joseph Fox, shown in this miniature portrait, commanded a company of the 9th Massachusetts Regiment at Verplanck’s Point. His regiment’s tents are partially visible in the painting of the encampment. By 1782, Fox was a seven-year veteran of the Revolutionary War, having served since 1775.
