St. George Coat of Arms
The St. George family coat of arms bears the Latin motto Firmitas in Coele, which translates to “strength from above.” One of Richard Mansergh St. George’s distant cousins, the Irish nobleman Sir Richard St. George, owned these versions of the family coat of arms. He may have used the bottom example as a bookplate
