The Museum of the American Revolution is pleased to join Frank Fox, the American Philosophical Society, the David Library of the American Revolution, and the McNeil Center for Early American Studies as a major sponsor of The American Revolution Reborn: New Perspectives for the Twenty-First Century.

The Museum of the American Revolution today announced that two award-winning firms—Donna Lawrence Productions and Bluecadet—will produce the films, multi-media and interactives for the Museum of the American Revolution.

This holiday season, the Museum of the American Revolution is reviving a traditional 18th century form of celebration: colorful window illuminations inspired by famed Philadelphia artist Charles Willson Peale. The window illuminations, “Illuminating Liberty,” are now on display nightly through the New Year. Each weekend in December from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., kids can create their own illumination-inspired ornament to take home.

The Museum of the American Revolution’s new “Third Tuesdays: History After Hours” series kicks off on Tuesday, Sept. 19 with extended evening hours from 5 – 8 p.m. on the third Tuesday evening of each month, featuring special themed programs, happy hour food and drink specials, games and trivia, and full access to the Museum’s exhibits. The next “Third Tuesdays” event this year will take place on Oct. 17. They will resume in January 2018.

It's almost that time of year again! As the holiday season approaches, the Museum of the American Revolution offers a wide range of festive, family-friendly and historically-themed events, from special Veterans Day weekend programs (free for veterans and military!) to a holiday season kick-off featuring a performance from Nutcracker 1776 to author talks by renowned historians.

The Museum of the American Revolution is asking visitors and passersby to declare how they are carrying forward the American Revolution’s promises of liberty and equality by adding a personalized ribbon to a flag-shaped “Declarations Wall.” The wall is located on the Museum’s outdoor plaza from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 30 – Wednesday, July 4, 2018. The goal is to collect 10,000 ribbons by July 4.

While many people are still hunting for tickets to the smash hit Broadway musical “Hamilton,” prolific author, scholar and Yale historian Dr. Joanne Freeman has been hunting for the real Alexander Hamilton for most of her life.

A large-scale reconstruction of an American privateer ship commissioned by the Museum of the American Revolution is now being transported to the new Museum after being constructed by Independence Seaport Museum’s boat-building workshop, Workshop on the Water.
