The Museum of the American Revolution’s award-winning 2019-2020 special exhibition Cost of Revolution: The Life and Death of an Irish Soldier is now available to virtual visitors through a robust online experience. The online exhibit is free and accessible to anyone with an internet connection.

In 2013, the Museum of the American Revolution commissioned Colonial Williamsburg’s Department of Historic Trades to create an exact replica of one of the greatest treasures in its collection—George Washington’s sleeping and office tent. This replica, which has been used by conservators and exhibit designers as a “stunt double” for the original tent as they plan for the installation of the fragile original artifact in the Museum—will be on display May 2-3 at George Washington’s Mount Vernon.

A small King James Bible, carried at the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775 and inscribed by its owner, was a new addition to the collection.

Tickets are now on sale for the upcoming special exhibition Cost of Revolution: The Life and Death of an Irish Soldier, which officially opens to the public Sept. 28, 2019 and runs through March 17, 2020 at the Museum of the American Revolution, the exhibition’s exclusive venue.
