Wearing Philadelphia Eagles gear, President of the Massachusetts Historical Society Catherine Allgor will deliver a speech defending Philadelphia – not Boston – as the true American “Cradle of Liberty” on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Noon.

This holiday season, the Museum of the American Revolution is reviving a traditional 18th century form of celebration: colorful window illuminations inspired by famed Philadelphia artist Charles Willson Peale. The window illuminations, “Illuminating Liberty,” are now on display nightly through the New Year. Each weekend in December from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., kids can create their own illumination-inspired ornament to take home.

The Museum of the American Revolution today announced that it has been recognized with a 2023 Special Achievement Award from PA Museums for its 2021-2022 special exhibition Liberty: Don Troiani’s Paintings of the Revolutionary War. The Museum of the American Revolution is asking visitors and passersby to declare how they are carrying forward the American Revolution’s promises of liberty and equality by adding a personalized ribbon to a flag-shaped “Declarations Wall.” The wall is located on the Museum’s outdoor plaza from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 30 – Wednesday, July 4, 2018. The goal is to collect 10,000 ribbons by July 4.

Acclaimed author and historian Dr. Mary Beth Norton will join the Museum of the American Revolution on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. to present a hybrid lecture, titled “Gender and American Resistance to British Authority, 1765-1775: A Reassessment,” as part of the Museum’s 2023 Read the Revolution Speaker Series. This hybrid program will be held in the Museum’s Liberty Hall and will be livestreamed online.
