This Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday, May 27 - Monday, May 29, 2023, visitors to the Museum of the American Revolution can explore the stories of the diverse range of men and women who served and sacrificed during the Revolutionary War and pay tribute those who continue to serve our nation today. Throughout the weekend, veterans, military, and Blue Star Families will receive free admission.

In the fall of 1777, Philadelphia was seized by the British and occupied for nine long months. The Museum of the American Revolution will recreate this little-known time in our city’s history as part of its annual living history event Occupied Philadelphia on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

General George Washington’s headquarters tent from the Revolutionary War is the centerpiece of the Museum of the American Revolution, where more than a million visitors have experienced the tent’s power in an immersive theater experience. In the Museum's upcoming special exhibition, "Witness to Revolution: The Unlikely Travels of Washington’s Tent," more than 100 artifacts from across the country will be brought together to expand the story told in the Museum’s award-winning Washington’s War Tent theater presentation and explore the tent’s inspiring journey from the Revolutionary War to today. Opening during Presidents Day Weekend, Witness to Revolution will be on view exclusively at the Museum from Feb. 17, 2024, through Jan. 5, 2025, and will be included with regular Museum admission.

Museum Members are invited to join a Museum educator for a tour of our newest special exhibition, Witness to Revolution: The Unlikely Travels of Washington's Tent.

Over Labor Day weekend, join the Museum to explore our Black Founders special exhibit, participate in family-friendly activities and crafts, and more as we wrap up A Revolutionary Summer. Children 12 years old and younger will receive free Museum admission throughout the holiday weekend.

John Adams wrote that he dreaded “the melting Heats of a Philadelphia Summer,” but even though it’s hot outside, cool things are happening at the Museum of the American Revolution this August. In addition to enjoying the Museum’s ice-cold air conditioning (a perk of strict climate requirements for preserving artifacts), visitors can enjoy everything from 18th-century music on the outdoor plaza to an archaeology station and history-themed happy hours.
