There is always something happening at the Museum of the American Revolution and this fall is no exception. With a dirth of author events, family-friendly activities and even a two-day living history event, there is truly something for everyone.

This Memorial Day weekend, the Museum of the American Revolution pays tribute to the men and women who lost their lives in service to their country during the American Revolution, and celebrates the freedoms they fought to secure for future generations.

The American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) has announced that the Museum of the American Revolution has received a 2021 Award of Excellence for its 2019-20 exhibition "Cost of Revolution: The Life and Death of an Irish Soldier."

Acclaimed author and historian Dr. Mary Beth Norton will join the Museum of the American Revolution on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 6:30 – 8 p.m. to present a hybrid lecture, titled “Gender and American Resistance to British Authority, 1765-1775: A Reassessment,” as part of the Museum’s 2023 Read the Revolution Speaker Series. This hybrid program will be held in the Museum’s Liberty Hall and will be livestreamed online.

Every Saturday from July 13 through August 17 starting at 11 a.m., the Museum of the American Revolution will host Sounds of the Revolution, a series of free musical performances and hands-on demonstrations inside the Museum and on the outdoor plaza.

Visitors of all ages will enjoy the Museum’s special hands-on exhibit Hamilton Was Here: Rising Up in Revolutionary Philadelphia and can participate in festive “History in the Making” crafts, activities and demonstrations showcasing life in the Museum’s neighborhood during the 18th Century.

Author and historian Dr. Jessica Millward will join the Museum of the American Revolution virtually on Thursday, January 28 at 6 p.m. to discuss how slavery, freedom, and liberation were intertwined in the experiences of African American women in the Revolutionary era.

The Museum of the American Revolution’s 2022 Conference on Collecting the Revolutionary War from April 7 – 9, 2022, will bring historians, museum professionals, and collectors together to discuss how ideas about objects have influenced collecting and public history over the past 250 years.

Harvard University historian and award-winning filmmaker and author Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. was awarded the 2022 Lenfest Spirit of the American Revolution Award at a sold-out evening gala at the Museum of the American Revolution on June 9, 2022.

This Memorial Day weekend, the Museum of the American Revolution will pay tribute to the men and women who lost their lives in service to their country during the American Revolution, and celebrate the freedoms they fought to secure for future generations from Saturday, May 26 – Monday, May 28, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Veterans and active or retired military will receive free admission courtesy of Comcast NBCUniversal during Memorial Day Weekend.
