John Adams wrote that he dreaded “the melting Heats of a Philadelphia Summer,” but even though it’s hot outside, cool things are happening at the Museum of the American Revolution this August. In partnership with the Museum of the American Revolution, the Dennis Farm Charitable Land Trust will present the sixth annual Lonaé A. Moore Forum, “It Begins with Each of Us: Fostering Racial Understanding." The theme of this year's forum is "A Way Forward" with a focus on how to make sure the full stories of our nation’s past, including the contributions of people of African descent, are told today.

A remarkable assemblage of 18th-century slipware ceramics uncovered during an archaeological excavation in Philadelphia will be revealed to the public for the first time. Nearly a dozen pieces of slipware, a form of decorative lead-glazed pottery, will be on view at the 2018 New York Ceramics & Glass Fair from Thursday, Jan. 18 – Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at Bohemian National Hall in Manhattan.
