Forged in Philadelphia: Winter Break at the Museum
During Winter Break, explore the stories of the people who lived right here at Third and Chestnut Streets during the Revolutionary era.
At 11 a.m. in Patriots Gallery, visitors can participate in a demonstration of activities that would have taken place in the Museum’s neighborhood during the 18th century. On Saturday, 12/30, learn about the skills that went into making a Revolutionary firearm, and take a closer look at a reproduction firearm to learn about a blacksmith’s business.
At 2PM in Liberty Hall, uncover the “Mysteries of Feature 16,” in an illustrated talk about the archaeological site we uncovered before we built the Museum.
Throughout the day, visitors can pose for the perfect selfie in front of a Washington Crossing the Delaware backdrop and re-create their own passage with props. Visitors can also enjoy performances by musician and storyteller Robert Mouland in the Museum’s Oneida Nation Atrium.
