Talking at the Tavern
Meet us at the Three Tun Tavern! Join us online in partnership with the DiMenna Children's Museum at the New-York Historical Society as we bring to life the conversations, gossip, and bits of news that filled the air at the Three Tun Tavern. Taverns acted as restaurants, hotels, bars, ballrooms, and all-around social hubs during the 18th century. Take a virtual field trip back in time to visit one in Philadelphia on the eve of the Revolutionary War. Listen in on their conversation and then join in yourself to ask questions and learn the juiciest bits of 18th-century news. You can even make your own colonial money ahead to to buy a tasty treat or secure a bed for the night!
